Why is it that often the people who move ahead are the ones skilled in hypocrisy, flattery, and sycophancy?

And those who consider harming others as their own success.

Sadly, in some institutions, flattery matters more than ability, sycophancy more than hard work, and personal interest more than character.

The result is that sincere and capable people go silent, while the flatterers do gain positions — but they damage the institution's performance and environment.

And by pulling others down, a person may rise for a while,

but he can never raise his own true worth.

In the end, a person is recognized not by his position, but by his character.

Flattery may open doors, but it never wins hearts.

The one who rises by pulling others down will fall one day — because his foundation is weak.

The real truth is:

Time settles all accounts. The sincere ones — even if late — find their place. And those who rise on flattery may hold the title, but they never truly win hearts.
